D10. Music Magazine: Double Page Spread Outcome Referred back to research

After  finished my product I went back to the research so that I could see where the research had influenced the final piece.

Specific Research
Black: They all had a piece of text at the start which introduced the article, this meant I did not start with the questions either, allowing a long piece of text to truly introduce the article.

Blue: They all show the name of the artist at the top and in bold so that the most important feature of the page can be seen straight away, my own work shows this.

Green: The green rings show how the magazines influenced my photograph that I used. The Carrie Underwood article strongly influenced my placement of my model in the photo and was backed up  by the wild child article who also showed the image to be there and of roughly the same size. questions followed by long answers so I produced my article in this way as well.
Light Blue: All but one showed quotations from the interviewee embedded among the text as I have done in my final piece.

Red: All apart form one article was made up off short bold

Yellow: Half of the articles supported my decision to place a page number in the bottom right hand corner.
Teenage Magazine Research
My research into teenage magazines, revealed many things such as that main image belonged on the left hand side, that quotations from the interviewee should
Drawings
As can be seen from the comparison, my final piece had been greatly influenced by my sketches of what the outcome was to be.
Font Research
The font research gave me the font for the title which matched the font of the quotations while the font of the main text complemented the title font well as my font research was successful,

Photo shoot preparation
The photo shoot preparation was the process through which I chose how I would present my model and it is also the process through which I chose the location for the photo shoot.

C13. Music Magazine: Contents Page Outcome referred back to Research

Initial Magazine Research
The intial magazine research led me to many conclusions. Country Weekly gave me the idea for the pose of model with the guitar as can be seen in the process. I found evidence supporting my decision to include the page number as well. The writing of both the examples I researched gave me evidence to believe that having a bolder title to the page information is a good idea ans that the page number and title should also be a different colour and font. The Country weekly example also gave me the idea to display the name of the model featuring on the contents page, this was backed up by the other example. My contents title was also heavily based on the one displayed in Country Weekly.

More Magazine Research
This research reaffirmed my ideas for the style of presentation for the main text, The Kayne article also showed the title could be a design feature and have just as much as weight as a photograph. This article also had evidence of smaller less important text at the very bottom which I went on to utilise.

Specific Magazine Research
The specific research mostly affirmed ideas such as the page number, having a bolder title to the page information. From the kerrang article I was able to get evidence that a horizontal instead of vertical strip was still appropriate, I also saw that the title was used to break up the sheer difference between the two halves which I have also made use of.
Drawings
This drawing gave me the basic structure for my contents page, the green horizontal colour covering the bottom third of the page which was spilt into three by the columns it contained.

F20: Music Magazine: Front Cover Outcome referred back to research

Music Magazine Research
From the music magazine research i was able to develop many ideas such as the colour mixed among white/black text for the information. I found from my research the appropriate place to put my bar code (bottom left hand corner). I also developed a similar type of font for my title as in COWGIRL magazine.

Title Research

From my title research I was able to decide which title would be best for my country music magazine. I have decided on LASSO.

Drawing Research
Above is the comparison between my final drawing and my final product. They are clearly linked however some of the colour elements are slightly different to what I had expected.

Pose Research
After a series of poses that I asked my model to preform for the camera in my photo shoot, I have ddecieded on the image which is a combination of the two above poses.
