F14. Music Magazine: Teenage Magazine Research of Front Covers

Title

The magazine name seventeen is bold, serif font. The letters are all approximately the same width and height. They are titled to the right and aligned to the centre. They are both bright colours with a slight outline. All these effects have been used to make the word seventeen appear bold, eye-catching and yet allow each letter to be uniform. The letters are also hidden behind the models head to make the model appear bolder.
Font
All the text (excluding the title) is bold and san serif, this makes it as outstanding as possible and easy to read. All the text is in bold colours and ranges in size.
Picture
The photographs have both been taken outside and feature the model’s head to midthigh. The picture has been taken so that model lies in the mid-third. The models are smiling and appear youthful with their brightly coloured clothing. The smiling and brightly coloured clothing may be a step away from country into pop music so this feature of a teenage magazine may not be used necessarily.
Outside, from the top of the models head to her mid thigh. Model is in mid third. Smiling youthful, this may not apply for a country music magazines well.
Corner

Shapes
They both feature large stars which are a bold and eye-catching design feature. They both use boxes behind text to highlight information
Placing
Most of the words appear in the end thirds and there is a consideration of the rule of thirds however they have broken this rule with some aspects.
